Activities Muslim Women’s Network UK (MWNUK) is seeking to set up a national advisory group of 8-12 Muslim women to strengthen its advocacy and campaigning work. Members will be asked to provide advice on how to reduce the inequalities experienced by Muslim women and girls, how their needs can be met and how their social, political, economic and health outcomes can be improved. These views will help inform research, government consultations, projects, and the work of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Muslim Women which MWNUK helped to set up. Earlier this year the CEO of MWNUK, Shaista Gohir OBE was appointed to the House of Lords as a non-party political Crossbench Peer, which also provides an opportunity for input into policy and law making.
(The Advisory Group members will be asked for their views through various methods such as email, phone calls, online group meetings and occasionally in person meetings).
