I have recently finished watching Squid Game on Netflix

I knew that a foreign series being no 1 in the UK on netflix must be good

I think it really represents how in life, if you start at a disadvantage, your life is more likely to be pressured and influenced by people higher up.
It also shows really well how deprivation can cause people to be vulnerable and desperate to do almost anything to survive.

Without ruining this for everyone, I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on the show!

p.s. i think I will be dressing as one of the workers as my halloween costume this year!

I did enjoy watching this as I wanted to see who would survive and how money, poverty, discrimination and personalities of the characters developed. One. Thing I did find interesting is the behind a mask everyone appears stronger, untouchable even. And the hierarchy is displayed quite well. The minute a mask comes off you realise how ‘ordinary’ or even pathetic they are. There so much. More to analyse but I shall leave it there.

I've yet to finish the show but it really highlights the economic insecurity that the characters face and how the capitalist system is against them which resonates with the real-life wealth gap. Reminds me of the Korean film, Parasite (another one to watch if you haven't already). Also glad to see the director Hwang Dong-hyuk finally get the recognition he deserves.
