Public debate in Britain is hardening. Calls for cultural conformity, rising anti-migrant sentiment, and growing hostility towards Muslim communities are reshaping the landscape of civic life.
This workshop explores how communities can respond, not with outrage or withdrawal, but with strategy, confidence, and purpose.
It trains advocates who can engage constructively with society, defend rights with wisdom, and contribute to the common good. Rooted in the principle of service, not status, it combines practical advocacy skills with reflection on what it means to lead with integrity in challenging times.
Through a mix of case studies, scenario-based exercises, and facilitated discussion, participants will practise how to frame arguments, navigate media and policy spaces, and respond to public tension with clarity and dignity. Each session links practical tools to the deeper ethical and civic questions that shape effective leadership, ensuring that advocacy is grounded in values as well as voice.
