The Government is considering major reforms to improve financial protections after a relationship ends, including new rights for cohabiting partners and stronger protections for domestic abuse survivors.

We want to hear from victim-survivors who have separated from an abusive partner, whether you were cohabiting, married or in a civil partnership. Your experiences will help us understand the challenges survivors face during separation, strengthen the case for reform, and inform Surviving Economic Abuse's future policy and campaigning work.

This survey should take around 15–30 minutes to complete. Some questions ask about domestic abuse, economic abuse, separation and legal processes, which some people may find upsetting. You can skip any question and stop the survey at any time.

Your responses will be kept confidential and used to inform Surviving Economic Abuse's policy, research and campaigning work, including responses to government consultations. Any quotes used will be anonymised.
If you would like support during or after completing the survey, information about specialist support services and helplines can be found below.
