Funny isn’t it, to think we as humans rely so heavily on companionship and warmth; we’re social creatures who need love and affection to not only thrive but to survive. The need for this network of support is vital in a world where independence is championed.

Reflections of ourselves. The bond we share is formidable. There are elements of beauty and danger in this; we see parts of ourselves manifest into our friends, and theirs into us. Who else do we connect with in this way, who else can we trust to influence our whole being?

It’s a constant, ever-evolving cycle. You have your work friends, school friends, childhood friends and family friends. They define every domain of life. Without them, our time here just wouldn’t be the same.

Each of us has that person we call home. A voice that puts all worries at ease. A smile that erases all fears. A laugh that can transform our day. That’s what it’s all about. A love so strong, it will go above and beyond.

Numbers and nicknames. It’s a blessing to have a few virtuous friends who are worth thousands; who outweigh everything, and what holds more value than having special names of endearment for each other? Chosen out of love and care, they’re expressions of affection. Nothing beats that.

Dusk till dawn and year after year, the bond between us goes from strength to strength, only growing stronger, riding the waves of life just like a cruise.

Simply put it, friends are the family we choose.
