For many people, the word hypnotherapy evokes images of stage shows, mind-control tricks, or the fear of being made to reveal hidden wounds. In reality, hypnotherapy is a gentle, evidence-based wellbeing practice rooted in relaxation, mindfulness, and the science of the subconscious mind.

My own journey into hypnotherapy began when I discovered just how many therapeutic tools sit under its umbrella. Techniques such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), guided visualisation, safe-space creation, body scans, anchoring, inner-child imagery, and breath-based grounding all work together to help the mind and body enter a state of deep calm. In this state, the subconscious becomes more receptive to positive, empowering messages; allowing us to gently reshape unhelpful patterns and reconnect with our inner strength.

This discovery opened a new chapter in my life. It led me to train as a holistic wellbeing therapist and eventually to establish Inner Reflection Therapies private CIC, where I support mainly women in cultivating emotional clarity, inner peace, and a renewed sense of self. The aim is to assist people in releasing their emotional load and to heal from within using combined therapeutic interventions, so that they can live in an empowered way.

Women need accessible tools to stay grounded, present and emotionally regulated. Not just during calm moments, but especially during times of pressure, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm.

During my first pilot of Mind-shift Relaxation Programme with a group of women in Lancashire, I witnessed something remarkable. Through a combination of PMR, guided visualisation, sensory exploration, and reflective exercises, the women began to experience a profound shift in their emotional state. Their breathing softened. Their shoulders dropped. Their minds became still. Many described vivid inner imagery, peaceful landscapes, comforting memories, or symbolic representations of release and renewal.

For these women, connecting their inner journey back to their spiritual source — Allah, created an immediate sense of reassurance. As they relaxed, they felt their stress ease and their trust deepen. It reminded them that tranquillity is not something external; it is something Allah has already placed within us. One participant even rediscovered a childhood scent during a sensory memory exercise - a moment that brought both joy and healing.

I struggle with stress and anxiety and rarely sleep well. After the meditation session, I felt grounded, calm, and deeply rested. It soothed my nervous system and helped me sleep peacefully. I also felt closer to Allah, as if He was carrying my struggles for me. (Client feedback)

Many of my clients shared a similar struggle: they knew with their tongues that Allah is the One who carries them, protects them, and guides their path, but yet their hearts still held onto old hurts, disappointments, and unprocessed emotions. This inner conflict often made it difficult for them to fully trust, to feel spiritually connected, or to experience life’s moments as blessings. two monthly evening sessions

This realisation inspired me to create Mindful Muslim Meditations designed to help women unwind, reconnect, and nourish their emotional wellbeing in a spiritually aligned way. These two monthly 30-minute evening sessions combine therapeutic and reflective tools such as:

  • Guided journaling
  • Mindfulness practices
  • Gentle visualisations
  • Affirmations rooted in trust and surrender
  • Art doodling for emotional release
  • Breathe-work and grounding techniques.

Together, they offer the depth of a 1-to-1 therapeutic experience making emotional wellbeing accessible to those who are curious about therapy, those who want to complement their existing therapy, and those who simply need a moment of stillness in their busy lives.

Your camera stays off. Your sound stays off. You simply enter your own space, breathe, and allow your mind and body to soften. Many women drift into deep rest or fall asleep afterwards — a sign that their nervous system has finally been given permission to relax.

Hypnotic tools and mindful practices are not about uncovering what Allah has concealed. They are about strengthening what He has already placed within you: resilience, clarity, trust, and inner peace.

When we learn to quiet the noise of the mind, we create space for the heart to breathe. When we release the emotional load, we make room for spiritual connection. When we shift our mindset, we shift our life.
